Public procurement, Anac speech at the G20 in Paris. The importance of technologies fighting corruption
“Fair and Sustainable Procurement for People and the Planet”: this is the title of the G20 session organized by the Anti-Corruption Working Group, which took place in Paris on 27 June 2024.
Anac President Giuseppe Busia was present and took part in a round table on the role of technologies in combating corruption in procurement.
Among the participants in the discussion panel: Henrique de Oliveira Andrade, Chief of Staff of the Secretariat of Internal Control, Office of the Comptroller General, Brazil; Kristen Robinson, Head of Advocacy, Open Contracting Partnership; Giuseppe Busia, President of ANAC; and Luigi Reggi, Monithon.
The roundtable highlighted how a people-centred and purpose-driven approach can increase the success rate of the fight against corruption by promoting accountability, fair competition, civic and entrepreneurial participation and building social value, through voice of those who have already experienced the impact of digitalisation in preventing corruption in procurement.
The results emerging from the discussion were shared with the UNODC, to facilitate the implementation of CoSP resolution 10/9 “Promoting transparency and integrity in public procurement, to support the 2030 agenda for sustainable development”.
