EU Public Procurement Data Space. Anac Joins Project to Connect National Systems

The National Italian Anti-Corruption Authority is leading the second cohort of countries joining the PPDS initiative

The Italian National Database of Public Contracts (BDNCP) is moving toward full connection to the EU Public Procurement Data Space (PPDS) thanks to the European Project Leveraging the EU Public Procurement Data Space (PPDS), implemented by the OECD with the financial support from the European Commission through the Technical Support Instrument (TSI), of which Anac is one of beneficiaries.

Italy il leading the second cohort of countries, which also includes Cyprus, Latvia, Portugal, and Slovakia, which voluntarily join the PPDS initiative. This platform is a service where policy makers, public buyers, companies, and other stakeholders can access information and leverage public procurement data in an innovative, integrated, and transparent way.

This platform serves as a shared and interoperable data infrastructure for public procurement across the EU, with the aim of promoting more transparency, efficiency, and competition in public procurement systems across the European Union: a collective effort, we count on the support of all stakeholders including contracting authorities to work towards better data quality.

The Leveraging the EU Public Procurement Data Space (PPDS)" project, started on September 15, 2025, will see Anac working with the European Commission (SG Reform and DG GROW), the OECD, and the other four partner countries over the next 24 months in peer learning activities, knowledge sharing, and tailored guidance. The aim is to connect the various national procurement systems to the PPDS, leading the way for the future connection of other EU Member States.
