Good practices in the fight against corruption and fraud. Italy and Slovenia united
On 19 and 20 February, a delegation from the Commission for the Prevention of Corruption (CPC) of Slovenia, a member of the European Network of Anti-Corruption Authorities (ENPE), visited the National Anti-Corruption Agency (ANAC). The initiative is part of the Best Anti-Corruption Practice Exchange (BACPE) programme within the EPAC/EACN (European Partners against Corruption and European Contact-point Network against Corruption) platform.
Funded by the European Union and the Special Investigation Department of the Republic of Lithuania (STT), BACPE is an exchange programme between countries aimed at enhancing the transfer of knowledge and experience on best anti-corruption practices through study visits to share best practices in the fight against corruption and fraud.
During the meeting at Anac, at the request of the Slovenian counterpart, a delegation from the Authority raised several issues of strategic importance, including the functioning of the National Public Contracts Database (BDNCP) and its role in the prevention of corruption, the strategy for data management and the involvement of civil society organisations by Anac, and the identification of corruption risks through data analysis.
The CPC delegation, received by the President of the Authority, Giuseppe Busia, and consisting of David Lapornik, Deputy Chief Commissioner, Žarko Lipovec, Senior Advisor III, and Gašper Kopušar, Senior System Administration Adviser, presented their data analysis platform, ERAR, explaining its current use and prospects for future development.
The meeting was an important opportunity to exchange and compare best practices in the fight against corruption and to strengthen the cooperation between Anac and CPC in the European context.
