Busìa elected president of the Network for Integrity
On International Anti-Corruption Day, 9 December 2024, Anac President Giuseppe Busìa was elected President of the Network for Integrity - Réseau pour l'Intégrité (NFI), the global network that contributes to the global anti-corruption agenda by fostering partnerships with international organisations such as the United Nations, the World Bank, the OECD and non-governmental organisations.
During the Network's plenary meeting in Mexico, which focused on the future of artificial intelligence as an anti-corruption tool, Italian Busìa was elected to lead the Network for the next two years. The appointment will take effect on 18 December 2024.
President of the Italian Anti-Corruption Authority since September 2020, Giuseppe Busìa was previously Secretary General of the Italian Data Protection Authority for more than eight years (2012-2020). Before that, he was Director of the Conference of States and Regions and Secretary of the Unified Conference of States, Regions and Local Authorities (2006-2008).
The Integrity Network, launched in Paris on 9 December 2016 on the occasion of the International Day against Corruption, is a cooperation space that brings together twenty institutions with missions related to the promotion of integrity, transparency and public ethics.
Any non-judicial public institution that is committed to promoting the prevention of corruption and transparency and is independent of government interference can become a member of the network. The Network's tasks also include promoting the Network's participation in international forums and conferences on integrity.
One of the additional functions of the Integrity Network is to identify relevant issues and overlaps among Network members and to facilitate information exchange and mutual learning. The Network also promotes innovation and creativity in the development of new strategies and tools to strengthen transparency and integrity measures. To this end, it organises working sessions on specific topics, encourages the development and delivery of training among members, provides a support platform to enable its members to exchange information with other institutions, and offers specific support to members wishing to develop new activities.
