He was received at the Italian Anti-Corruption Authority by President Giuseppe Busia, Councilor Laura Valli and Secretary General Filippo Romano.
‘The fight against corruption is a priority for the Netherlands because corruption leads to the erosion of the rule of law,' the Dutch delegation told the meeting. ‘The government wants to strengthen the prevention of corruption within the administration and the economy. Italy has a lot of experience in fighting corruption. That is why the Dutch side is interested in sharing the approach and examples of good practice that Italy is implementing’.
Anac President Busìa and Councilor Valli explained the organisation of Anac and the main points of the Authority's commitment to transparency, public procurement control and the fight against malpractice and maladministration.
The meeting served to strengthen bilateral cooperation, the implementation of anti-corruption policies at national and European level, the fight against organised crime and the defence of democracy and the rule of law in their respective countries and in Europe.
